• We have four indoor cats and several outdoor cats. While we clean rigorously, those with allergies may want to consider alternate accommodations.
• Cancellation policy: 100% of prepayments refundable when canceled 14 day(s) before arrival or earlier. 50% of prepayments refundable when canceled 7 day(s) before arrival or earlier. 0% refundable if canceled after.
• A pre-authorization of USD 100.00 is held upon arrival and voided on 5 day(s) after departure.
• Children 10 and older are welcome! For younger children, please contact us directly. 
• As we are in a residential part of Galena, we humbly request that our guests remain respectful of our neighbors and other guests.
• Please notify us of any allergies or dietary restrictions. While we will do our best to accommodate, we are not an allergen free kitchen.  

~ Meet the Innkeepers ~

Originally from Evanston, Illinois, we visited Galena for the first time in the summer of 2024 and immediately fell in love. From Galena's rich history and charming architecture to the incredible restaurants and shops, we knew Galena was the place we wanted to call home. We are also huge fans of Victorian homes, so we were absolutely thrilled to discover the beautiful former Queen Anne Guest House was for sale. We dropped everything to come back to town and the rest is history!

With an abundance of love, sweat and some tears, we have worked to restore our lovely house to its original splendor and to share it with fellow Galena travelers. Thus, the idea for the Painted Cat was born - a tribute to the Victorian "Painted Ladies" and all the cats (both indoor and outdoor!) who share our home!
