Q: Is the Painted Cat Child friendly? A: Yes! We allow children ages 10 and up to maintain a quiet, relaxing atmosphere. If you have a younger child, please reach out to us directly to inquire about accommodations.
Q: Is it possible to book the entire B&B for a large group? A: Yes! Reach out to us directly for larger groups and special rates.
Q: How long is the walk from The Painted Cat to downtown Galena? A: Our B&B is about a 10-minute walk to Galena's main street.
Q: Are we a gluten free kitchen? A: Unfortunately, we are not a gluten free kitchen. We bake constantly so we cannot guarantee there won't be cross-contamination.
Q: Is The Painted Cat a Queer friendly space? A: Absolutely! We proudly welcome everyone to our B&B and strive to create a friendly, safe environment for all.
Q: I have a Cat allergy - will my stay be comfortable? A: We have four indoor cats that live in our common areas. While they don't go in the guest rooms, we cannot guarantee you won't have an allergic reaction.
Q: What style architecture is The Painted Cat? A: Our home is built in the Queen Anne style, which was popular in the US and England during the late Victorian era.
Q: Do the innkeepers live in the B&B? A: We do! We live in our own separate area of the home away from our guests.
Q: Is parking free and easy to find? A: Yes and yes! Street parking is plentiful on both Park and Adams streets. While not required, we do ask our guests to try and park alongside our home if possible in an effort to respect our neighbors.
Is everything in the home original? A: Some pieces are, in fact, original. If they aren't, they are antiques!
Are the cats friendly? A: Of course! All of our cats are playful and love to cuddle. Just be mindful of claws when playing!
Is a fridge available for leftovers? Yes! There is a communal fridge in the second floor refreshment area to store leftovers/perishables.
