~ Meet the Innkeepers ~
Originally from Evanston, Illinois, we visited Galena for the first time in the summer of 2024 and immediately fell in love. From Galena's rich history and charming architecture to the incredible restaurants and shops, we knew Galena was the place we wanted to call home. We are also huge fans of Victorian homes, so we were absolutely thrilled to discover the beautiful former Queen Anne Guest House was for sale. We dropped everything to come back to town and the rest is history!
With an abundance of love, sweat and some tears, we have worked to restore our lovely house to its original splendor and to share it with fellow Galena travelers. Thus, the idea for the Painted Cat was born - a tribute to the Victorian "Painted Ladies" and all the cats (both indoor and outdoor!) who share our home!
